AI Health Coach

Use Omnio AI Health Coach to ask plain-English questions about Oura, Garmin, WHOOP, nutrition, recovery, and long-term health trends.

Overview

Omnio includes an AI health coach that can answer questions about your health data, explain your scores, and help manage your training plan. It has direct access to your metrics via tool calls — it doesn’t just guess, it queries your actual data.

What the coach can do

Query your data

  • “How did I sleep last night?”
  • “What’s my HRV trend over the past 2 weeks?”
  • “How many calories did I eat yesterday?”
  • “Show me my training volume for this week.”

Explain your scores

  • “Why is my readiness score low today?”
  • “What’s dragging down my sleep score?”
  • “Explain how the activity score is calculated.”

Training plan management

  • “Create a hypertrophy plan for 4 days per week.”
  • “Swap today’s workout to an upper body session.”
  • “Trigger a deload week.”
  • “Add face pulls to my pull day.”
  • “What has the system learned about my recovery?”

Health insights

  • “Am I overtraining?”
  • “How does my nutrition affect my recovery?”
  • “What’s my ACWR and is it in the safe zone?”
  • “Compare this week’s sleep to last week.”

How it works

When you send a message, the AI coach:

  1. Reads your question.
  2. Decides which tools to call (if any) to fetch relevant data from your metrics, training plan, or health profile.
  3. Receives the tool results.
  4. Generates a response grounded in your actual data.

Responses stream in real-time. You can stop generation at any time by clicking the stop button.

Personas

The coach adapts its communication style:

  • Health coach (default) — Friendly, actionable advice with context.
  • Clinical — More precise, data-focused language.
  • Casual — Conversational, less formal.

Daily limits

To manage costs, the AI chat has usage limits:

Limits reset at midnight in your timezone. Your current usage is shown at the bottom of the chat interface.

Important disclaimers

  • Not medical advice. The AI health coach provides informational insights based on your data. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a healthcare provider for medical decisions.
  • AI-generated responses are marked with an “AI” badge so you always know you’re talking to a model, not a human.
  • Data privacy — Your questions and health context are sent to the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) to generate responses. These providers are contractually prohibited from training on your data. Conversations are stored for 30 days, then auto-deleted.

Tips for better responses

  • Be specific. “How did I sleep?” is good. “How did I sleep last Tuesday compared to my baseline?” is better.
  • Ask follow-ups. The coach remembers your conversation context (up to 20 messages).
  • Reference time ranges. “This week”, “last 30 days”, “yesterday” all work.
  • Ask it to explain. If you don’t understand a score or recommendation, ask “Why?” — the coach will show which models and data points informed its answer.

Exporting conversations

You can export any conversation from the chat interface:

  • Markdown — Clean formatted text, good for notes.
  • JSON — Structured data with metadata.
  • Plain text — Simple text export.
